Ayurveda is the oldest medicine in the world and means ‘Knowledge of life’. The aim of Ayurveda is to look at the root of problems and prevent illness by living and eating according to the right standards. In Ayurveda only natural products are used.
During this course you will learn about a few of the basics of Ayurveda. It starts with becoming aware of how your body works and what effect food has on you. We will look at what your body constitution is and what your body requires.
In class we will practice with ingredients that are a betterment for your health, such as cooking oils, Indian herbs and spices, right proteins and carbohydrates and there will be an Indian cooking workshop.

The activities are spread over 5 mornings. You can participate to an early morning Yoga Asana class.

For years Richard has worked in the Hotel and Tourism Industry in different countries. In Kerala, India, he has studied the basis of Ayurveda and Herbology. Richard has completed the Yoga Teacher Training Course at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai. Now Richard teaches at The Yoga Teacher Training Course at Centre Lotlorien, organises courses about the philosophy of Yoga and Ayurveda and gives workshops on balanced food, the practical use of local herbs and the preparation of oils and other herbal products.
